The Ontario Veterinary Medical Association is a professional organization representing veterinarians across Ontario. OVMA is committed to advancing and promoting excellence in veterinary medicine, the betterment of animal health and contributing to the protection of human health. Veterinary Technicians are specifically trained professionals who work as an integral part of the veterinary medical team, to provide humane quality animal health care. Their education provides them with the theory and practical skills essential to their career choice. The OAVT is an advocacy group for the Veterinary Technicians of Ontario.

The College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) regulates the practice of veterinary medicine in Ontario to protect the public interest. While the CVO is not a school or university, the organization licenses veterinarians inspects and accredits veterinary facilities and investigates complaints against veterinarians. It is the Veterinary regulatory and licensing board for Ontario.
