The College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) regulates the practice of veterinary medicine in Ontario to protect the public interest. While the CVO is not a school or university, the organization licenses veterinarians inspects and accredits veterinary facilities and investigates complaints against veterinarians. It is the Veterinary regulatory and licensing board for Ontario.

The American Society for the Prevention of the Cruelty to Animals website contains information on shelters, rehabilitation and poison control amongst other topics. There is also a link to the very fun and educational children’s site packed with activities.
The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has a very colourful site containing information on the Ontario SPCA Act, lists of shelters in the province, ways to help prevent cruelty and fun facts for the kids.
