To all of our valued Guelph Animal Hospital clients –

2021 will bring a new chapter for our hospital. After 33 years of working with our many clients and their pets, Dr. Butler will be retiring at the end of April.

It is bittersweet to announce this change, for as excited we are for Rob to start his well earned retirement, we know he will be missed by all!

Rob started his veterinary career at Guelph Animal Hospital in the spring of 1988. At that time the clinic was located in a converted house on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Duke Street. He moved the practice to its current location in 1998, renovating the building from a Red Lobster to a large, fully equipped veterinary hospital.

Rob was one of the first local veterinary practitioners to become certified in Veterinary Acupuncture, quickly followed by all facets of training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine which he combined with the best of modern veterinary medicine to offer a truly integrative approach to the treatment of his patients. Clients travel from all over Ontario for his expertise and skills, and thousands of patients have been helped under his care.

With current Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to give him the send-off he deserves, so we will plan for a proper celebration when we can. In the meantime, please join us in wishing him all the best!
