Hospital Administrator
Cheryl Haber
Cheryl grew up in North Bay, Ontario where she earned her BA from Nipissing University in 2004. After obtaining her BA, Cheryl moved to Brampton accepting a teaching position at a local college. While teaching, she was introduced to management – and it became a new passion for her. A year after starting the teaching position, Cheryl moved into the management sector full-time, accepting a rewarding position as a Regional Manager with Altima Dental – one of the largest Corporate Dental organizations which provide services across Ontario. In 2008, Cheryl moved to Cambridge with her partner Brandon, and son, Nicholas; together they welcomed a baby girl, Olivia, in October 2009.
Cheryl joined the Guelph Animal Hospital team in February 2010. As Hospital Administrator, Cheryl is responsible for running all facets of the business. When you stop in to visit us, you will see her around the clinic helping out where she can and adding another smiling face to our team. Cheryl is currently working toward her CVPM certification by taking the VMI program offered at Purdue University, in Indiana. She is a member of the OVMA, VHMA and the OVMG. All three organizations are designed to ensure Hospital Administrators are current in all aspects of hospital operations.
When Cheryl is not taking care of business at Guelph Animal Hospital, she is busy taking care of her family at home. She loves playing peek-a-boo with Olivia, going biking with Nicholas, and taking road trips with Brandon. When she’s able to find a free minute, Cheryl enjoys reading a book over a glass of Merlot and watching her favourite TV show ‘Grey’s Anatomy’
Client Care Specialists
Cynthia
Cynthia has rejoined our client care specialist team part-time after an extended maternity leave with her second son Eric. Cynthia has been with Guelph Animal Hospital since 1999 and is excited to see all the familiar clients and pets as well as meeting all the new ones.
In her spare time (which is limited these days), she enjoys reading, playing monster trucks with her two boys, Richard and Eric, and having dinner out with her hubby Greg.
Marissa
Marissa started at GAH in August of this year. She moved to Guelph from a small town near Port Dover, ON four years ago to attend the University of Guelph. This past April, Marissa graduated with distinction from the Bachelor of Science program with a Major in Animal Biology. She aspires to become a veterinarian and is applying to OVC this year. She is currently living in Guelph with her husband Kaleb (they just got married in June!) and her four year old Boston terrier named Ruby. She has worked at multiple regular practices in Southern Ontario from Mount Hope to Burford to Toronto to Ancaster over the last five summers and is also currently working at the HWEVC on holidays and some weekends. In her spare time she loves to play softball, indoor and beach volleyball, and participating in camping and other outdoor activities, especially taking Ruby rollerblading all over Guelph.
Andree
Andree Morin started at Guelph Animal Hospital in June 2011. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph and dreams of one day becoming a veterinarian. She has volunteered at a small animal clinic in Guelph and the Guelph Humane Society, and is eager to learn whatever she can about the veterinary field. At her childhood home in Waterloo, she has a dog named Taz, and three cats named Blackjack, Roxy and Chloe. When she is not busy studying for school or working hard, she enjoys going skating (which she did competitively for 13 years), reading, spending quality time with friends and family, listening to music and travelling.
Jodi
Jodi started at Guelph Animal Hospital in 2008 in a cross-departmental position as part of the kennel and reception team. She has since transitioned into one of the full time client care specialist roles and is one of the familiar faces you’ll see when you come in for appointments. Jodi graduated from the University of Guelph with distinction in the B.Sc Honours Zoology program. She worked throughout her schooling in the service industry both as a waitress and service manager – a background which is very beneficial for her future goals as a veterinarian. Jodi brings with her a very hard work ethic, maturity, customer service experience, a deep rooted passion for animals and a desire to learn and absorb everything she can in a clinical setting, from hands-on animal care to administrative work to emergency situations and beyond.
Jodi loves outdoor activities, camping and sports. She especially loves spending time off-road mountain biking and hiking with her Golden Retriever mix “Charlie” and cuddling on the couch with her newest addition, a domestic shorthair “Veruca”. Other than her passions for animals and the outdoors, Jodi confesses to love food and cat naps in the afternoon (not at work of course). Jodi was accepted into vet school at Guelph University for September 2011, but remains with us on a part-time basis.
Krystal
Krystal started working the GAH in July of 2009 as a kennel technician in boarding. She then moved into the role of Animal Care Attendant assisting with orders, cleaning and sterilizing the back areas, equipment and surgical instruments and helping to keep the clinic stocked. Krystal was also trained on reception to lend her skills across the hospital. Krystal went to part time June 1 of 2010 working on weekends at reception when she took an opportunity that she couldn’t pass up. She got her BSc Honours with a major in Zoology from the University of Guelph, graduating in 2007. Her previous animal care experience comes from working at the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA during high school as a kennel attendant and at the Guelph Humane Society during university as a cat care attendant. Guelph Animal Hospital is her first vet clinic and she adores it!
In her spare time, Krystal fosters kittens for the KW Humane Society and Animal Adoptions of Flamborough. She also likes to play baseball, volleyball, cross stitch and is taking guitar lessons with her partner Mike. They share their home with five cats, Holly, Reginald Cornelius III, Angelica, Taffy and Cyrus, their cockatiel, Mozart, their rats Beverly and Addie and their lizards Cheeko, Russel and Timmy. In the future Krystal hopes to get back into working with animals full time and continuing to assist rescues and shelters in any way she can.

She has been an obedience instructor for over 20 years, and is a licensed obedience judge. Leslie competes in obedience and agility with her Miniature Schnauzers and has several titles in both. In fact, she is ranked both provincially and nationally!
Leslie lives in Guelph with Scotty and 6 Miniature Schnauzers. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, golfing and bike riding. She is also an avid reader and is keen on any murder mystery suggestions that you can throw her way!
Stacey
Stacey joined the Guelph Animal Hospital team in 2010. She worked previously as a dental assistant but decided to go back to school to pursue her true passions in the veterinary field. After graduating from Georgian College in 2007, Stacey worked for 3 years at a small animal practice in Brantford. Looking to expand her veterinary experience, Stacey worked for a few other clinics in the surrounding area. Nothing seemed to fit perfectly so Stacey applied for a position at Guelph Animal Hospital. After a working interview, Stacey fell in love with the clinic and we fell in love with her!
When she’s not at the clinic working hard, Stacey can be found at home lounging with her pug “Preudence” the pug, “Pinot” and “Harvey” the cats, and new yellow lab “Vera”. In her free time, Stacey loves to read, cook, bake, camp, hike, bike and fish. She also loves to read, cook, bake, camp, hike, bike and fish. She also loves hanging out with her family – including 5 nieces – and friends.
Meaghan
Meaghan joined the Guelph Animal Hospital team after completing a year at St. Lawrence College and graduating from Seneca in 2010. Meaghan has always had a strong desire to become a veterinary technician; volunteering at the OVC Small Animal Clinic during high school and working at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of York Region during college. After graduating, Meaghan was looking for an environment that would allow her to grow as a technician and that provided exceptional patient care. Guelph Animal Hospital was her family veterinarian for her own pets since they moved from Newfoundland in 2003 and she always thought the staff provided amazing service. She was happily welcomed in 2010. Meaghan has a keen interest in dentistry, surgery and overall patient care and is looking forward to expanding her skills and experience with us!
When Meaghan is not hard at work, she loves hanging out with her friends and family, and her family pets – a Golden Retriever “Sandy”, and two cats “Simba” and “Tobie”. She also enjoys listening to music, delving into art, and watching movies.
Veterinary Assistant
Martina
Martina joined the Guelph Animal Hospital team in 2010 after completing a co-op placement in her last semester of the Veterinary Medical Office Administration Program at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus. She works in a cross-departmental position as an Animal Care Assistant and Client Care Specialist. With her previous experience at Guelph Humane Society, several veterinary clinics in Guelph, and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Martina brings a variety of skills and experience to the table in her position with us. In the future, Martina plans to return to school to become a registered veterinary technician and continue developing her knowledge and know-how in the veterinary field.
When Martina has free time, she spends almost all of it outdoors! She loves to kayak, swim, camp, hike, and run. The cold weather doesn’t deter her either – she loves the winter and takes all the snowy opportunities she can to snowshoe and snowboard. When she does head indoors, she can be found snuggling with her cats – 5 gorgeous boys, “Spencer”, “Solomon”, “Milo”, “Dexter” and “Jeffrey Norton”.
